I was on right after Ted Richards…I was one of the 3 Canadians on staff..a dream come true for me back then. How to we add a picture to the Detroit Radio line up?
And if anyone run across a 12 midnight – 6:am CKLW Big 8 air check of me! I’ll pay any amount for it! I also did New Years Eve on 1078 to 1979.
Thank you George for your time

HELLO,
I AM LOOKING FOR A RADIO SPECIAL THAT AIRED THE LAST WEEK OF 1977.THE SHOW WAS CALLED “SOUND OF 77” THAT HAD FIVE HOURS OF MUSIC AND NEWS EVENTS OF THAT YEAR.
DO YOU HAVE IT BY ANY CHANCE. SHOW WAS PRODUCED BY CINEMA SOUND LTD. OF NEW YORK.
THANK YOU MICHAEL
Does anyone have any tapes from the later part of Swing Time to the early days of The Lively Spot”. I was on quite a few of those shows and would like to find some with me on it to show my grandkids! I will pay for a copy if anyone has any.
Yes have some of the show. Do you have any. Lets talk
Looking for WABX airchecks 1967-1968…..decent condition. I can’t believe that I was one of the few who taped radio shows back in the day….I really did, then, promptly lost all my tapes in a flood, here in Florida in 1996……been looking for substantial amounts of ABX stuff since….not with a great deal of success.
Dr Mad: How did you make out with that request for WABX. I have about three hours on two separate dates from August 1969, Larry Miller I think.
…. Peter
I worked with Eddie Rogers at WDRQ FM93 1978-79. He hired me when we were just moving into a brand new building in Southfield. What a fun time in my life. I also worked with Jim Ryan and Don Geronimo. I worked mid days then worked 10-2 at night! What a fun ride. I still have airchecks and if you like I will provide them on the original cassettes and reels. I’m currently retired from radio and live in Portland, Oregon. I also spent time at Tower 92 in Detroit. Dave Preston! Anyone remember me??
I’m replying to a comment you made, Dave, about year ago… I hope you’ll still receive this. If you’re the Dave Preston I’m looking for I sure remember you! If so, you and I worked together at WMFJ in Daytona Beach, those many years ago… in ’76 – 78 or so. I was Steve Craig back in those days. And many adventures later, I’m living with my wife Tammy in Southern Pines, NC. Are you that guy with the green VW??? let me know if you get this…..
Hello. My father worked at Tower 92 in Detroit during its time. Do you remember Thomas Ryan? Some know him as “The Reel” Tom Ryan or “Tommy Ryan”.
Tom Ryan was Sgt Sacto! I did not know Tom had a cosmos son,,,
“Who’s who” in Radio!
To Whom It May Concern,
If it would be possible for any more WHND broadcasts, that would be phenomenal, the longer the better. Sorry for a short comment, but my father absolutely loves your old airchecks, he can remember sitting in his hotrod with only AM radio, and listening to that station. But ONLY UNTIL SUNSET!!
Thanks for the great memories guys, you rock!
Brandon
Hi, I would like to see any old clips from the Ed Mckenzie show around 1955-56. My father was in a sing group called the Pebbles from Pershing High. They had a singing competition between them and The Four Tops. I would love to get a copy of it for my dad while he’s still living. It would be exciting to watch it with his grandkids too!
where did all those creative Tascam Reel-to-reels airchecks go?? there worth millions $$$$ (Lol)
HOW ABOUT THOSE MEMORABLE RECORD HOPS AT ST. CHRISTOPHERS, OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS, CLUB 182, WALLED LAKE CASINO SEEING THE TEMPTATIONS, THE SEMINOLES, STEVIE WONDER, THE ROYAL PLAYBOYS AND OTHERS BEFORE THE MADE IT BIG TIME. AND WHA TABOUT ALL THOSE TEEN CLUBS LIKE SHANGRI-LA, THE PUMPKIN, CARMEN THEATER AND MANY MORE.

I’m looking for any checks of Todd Wallace on CKLW around the 69-70 era. Would appreciate hearing from you if you do.
Sorry Jim, still waiting for our very first Todd Wallace CKLW aircheck for archive inclusive — still looking . . . .
I truly love all of the old airchecks from the great Detroit area radio stations. A big thank you to all of those who have made this wonderful “vault of music and more” such a treasure.
what happen to all those dance shows ROBIN Seymour tapeD as also BUD DAVIES
THK YOU. CB
I am currently listening to Wayne Kramer (MC5) narrate his new boook “The Hard Stuff” and he talks of being in an adjacent studio recording and looking in an ope door and watching Edwin Starr working on “Stop Her on Sight.” Got me to thinking that Edwin Starr recorded a WKNR promo for Scott Reagan using the same song with different Scott Reagan lyrics. Anyone have that spot?
TERRY REILLY, if this helps, the WKNR Edwin Starr thing was actually released on RicTic, the same label that released the hit, and it was called “Scott’s On Swingers” I THINK – maintaining the S. O. S. abbreviation.
Finding it may be a whole different thing altogether, though having that info now can be very helpful. My best suggestion is to put in an ebay search, but there can’t be very many of those made. You might also contact KIP BROWN, who I noticed is on this site. He’s on the other side of the state, but that’s never stopped him from finding stuff before! 🙂
If there’s a Carl Pellegrino in here as a member, he may be even more helpful because he’s in the area, living in Chelsea (or I hear he’s possibly now moved to Inkster, which would be even more in the local mix).
Still looking for Todd Wallace CKLW? I have 30 minutes from Nov 15 1968, Thanks Charlie
Here’s some of my airchecks + other audio ephemera.

I have heard of a legendary intro to the Temptations Papa Was a Rolling Stone by CKLW’s Bill Gable. Does anyone have it. TIA
I was a producer at CFCF/CFQR in Montreal and CFRB/CKFM back in the 70s & 80s. Best job ever.
I would love to hear any tapes of the WXYZ night remotes like from Wall Lake Casio, Light Guard Armory etc. Are there any on line?
I think someone used a magnetic buffer on those reel- to- reel tascam tapes by now_ ask Washington, FCC for a sample or the Rock Hall of Fane ; they’ll be guards around,, so enjoy the audio feed 🤪 🤪 🤪
Is Tom Ryan still living
? He was Sgt Sacto on WKBD-tv 50 before radio on Womc (retired)
Fart wav. ‘Cause it’s Summer,,, my time of year”” by WAR
”Cause It’s Summer. My time of Year,,,, 1974– 2023,, nearly 50 years in the radio business. Do the math, one more to go God willing,,, VIC. My next gig is interview big names as Sally, Dolly, Petula and Linda,,, stay tune ,,,(lol)
Would like to find an aircheck of Nightflight 760 where the beginning has the destination and then you would here the jet engines windup. I think it was with Jay Roberts
I met Jay Roberts in 1981 at a radio convenntion in Chicago; he worked for WJR with his “Night Flight” radio program, it was very creative. I think he long retired as moved out west. He could not figure out why any sensible person would hold be dinner events or banquets at the Top of the Fisher Bldg. On the floor above WJR studios. The voices of the Great Lakes! ,,,
Is there anyone that can help find an aircheck of Pat St. John on WRIF…early 70s??
Question: What’s the difference of being a “DJ” and being a radio broadcast personality? Same thing. Another thing, where’s the radio antenna? ,,,, “TheVic” 2024.
