Wow…I don’t know who put this website together but I see no mention of the only 2 African-American owned radio stations in the Detroit Metro area, WCHB, WQBH-1400AM.
Hello T. E. Steinberg, thank you for visiting Motor City Radio Flashbacks. Go to Motor City Radio Flashbacks webpage. On the left side — below the menu — go to CATEGORIES. Scroll down all the way down to the W’s. Until you find WCHB. Double-click WCHB (and do so as same, likewise, for WJLB) and it will take you to what we have archived on the website to date on those two legendary Detroit soul radio stations. Thanks again, we hope you will find there what you may be looking for.
I’m looking for a Honey Radio sweatshirt, my father had one years ago, he’s desperately searching for it.
You missed WJLB, which was represented.
Right! And I could swear there was a GREAT station by the name of WJZZ!!!!!
could you post Ken Calverts website as a link? he plays a lot of old interviews from Detroit radio, thanks
Kevin — link added! (see under: Blogroll)
Hi, I’m trying to get a copy of the WABX-99 bumper sticker jpg file to make some copies for our vehicles. I uploaded the one you have listed, but the print company said it was to blurry. Do you have a clearer copy of this file. Trying to get it for Christmas surprise. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Sorry Donna. That particular WABX image archived on the website IS all we have of that one and yes, unfortunately, it is blurry. But if there is anything WABX that will suit your needs, feel free to use as you please.
Does anyone remember WTAK Mighty 1090AM, They were in Garden City MI, 1968 or so? I worked there for a month or so as a Production engineer.
I like to see more of WDZR 102.7 ZROCK
