A MCRFB NOTE: C-SPAN televised the J. P. McCarthy Morning Show in its entirety (4 hours) on April 6, 1994, 29 years ago today.
Throughout this entire show, you will hear the voices of Gene Fogel, Dan Streeter, Dick Heifner, Joel Alexander, Dennis Nuebacher, with the day’s news, traffic, weather and sports. And of course, J.P. speaking with guests and taking calls throughout the broadcast.
At time this broadcast was simulcast on C-SPAN, J. P. McCarthy was at WJR for 27 years. The WJR morning ‘voice of the Great Lakes’ passed away on August 16, 1995. J. P. was 62.

So glad to find this especially to hear Dan Streeter, whom I worked with at KYCA-AM 1490 in Prescott, AZ in the early 2010’s. It was my first radio job and Dan (or Don Steel as he was going by on air) was a huge mentor to me. He sounds exactly the same here!

So glad to hear Dan Streeter’s voice. I worked with Dan (or Don Steel as he called himself on air at the time) from 2010 to 2013 at KYCA- AM 1490 in Prescott, AZ. He was a true mentor and friend to me as a young broadcaster barely out of college. Sadly I heard Dan passed away in February of this year in Sparks, NV.
