SADLY, WITH MUCH REGRET, Motor City Radio Flashbacks learned late-yesterday, former (Detroit radio) WXYZ, WWJ, and WXYT news reporter Tom McIntyre passed away Friday, October 2, 2015, in Venice, Florida.
His daughter, Kara McIntyre, stated he had been battling leukemia/lymphoma. He was 79. No funeral services will be held.
A memorial service for Tom McIntyre is planned for the first weekend in December, 2015, in Venice. A definite date as yet pending. McIntyre was part of the (ABC News) WXYZ 1270 news team here in Detroit during the 1960s.

I listened to his WXYT talk show!! He is missed.
Just came across this. Had the pleasure for working daily with Tommy at WXYT for several years. One of the most respectable men I ever met in Journalism. Signed a copy of his book for me…used the call me The Kid on the Controls.
Keep hounding them in Heaven Tommy…truth is out there.
I listened to his talk show while working evenings. I liked him and Mark Scott.
Tommy was part of my every day listening schedule! Talked to him frequently on WXYT and Real warrior . He spoke the truth! He’s missed!
