Detroit’s ‘Smooth Jazz’ WVMV premiered on 98.7 FM, December 1995. Detroit has since been without a ‘Smooth Jazz’ format on the FM dial since WVMV-FM last signed-off on October 9, 2009.
Throughout the 14-plus years WVMV was on the air, the station put out 12 ‘Smooth Jazz’ charity CDs. Motor City Radio Flashbacks has all of them, such as the premiere V98.7 CD Volume 1 (released 1998) featured today on MCRFB.COM.

I loved 98.7 when it originally was on the radio. I have all charity cd’s but missed getting volume number 1. Is there some
way I could possibly get that volume number 1?
I have all of the Smooth Jazz Charity CD’s except Volume 6. I’ve tried purchasing it on Ebay and Amazon a couple of times, however, it arrives with the correct CD case/cover, insert and properly external labeled CD but the internal label says “Rare Requests, Volume 2” and it has completely different songs than those listed on the CD back cover. Are than any good Volume 6s out there? This is a terrible manufacturer mistake and apparently there are a lot of these mislabeled CDs.
