These are guys I grew up with. I guess we were all “kindred spirits”…back in the day. Just wondering what’s become of Dave Dixon and the rest of the old ABX “Air-Aces”
Dave Dixon was my fave of the Air Aces.
A haven, a godsend, ‘ABX was the ultimate transcendency from the crackling transistor radio hit tune torment to stereo LP musical bliss. ahhhhhh
The songs would mystically blend from one to another, one genre to another, one would lose the constant back-time tracking of the AM blather, and just meld with the flow… No pounding of Station ID and commercial sloganism. Just an occasional, incidental interjection of ” ‘ABX!” The original, never bettered…
Listening to these guys and mostly the music they played is absolutely some of my greatest young adult memories. Back in the days of old FM converter radio in my fathers hand me down 1965 Rambler Classic.

Dave Dixon ended up doing a deep tracks show on Public Radio before he got sick. Don’t know about the rest.

Dave Dixon…The Bill Kennedy of the radio in my humble opinion. A bit of a blowhard.

Simply the best in my opinion, Belle Isle Kite Inns When Dee Jays had a say so on what they played
