“The Little Drummer Boy” is a Christmas song instrumental performed and recorded by Detroit-born jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell in October 1966. It became a track for the Cadet album, ‘Have Yourself A Soulful Christmas’, an LP compilation of Cadet artists released for the holidays that year. The number was also released as a single, Cadet 5555, debuted on December 30, 1967, having peaked #21 for just one week only on the special Billboard Christmas chart.

“The Man With All The Toys” is a Christmas song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was released on their 1964 album The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album. As a single that year it had limited success (No. 6 on the Billboard Christmas chart), but built sales over successive Christmases and is listed by Billboard in the Top 100 selling Christmas songs in history, though well below the Beach Boys’ 1963 Christmas single, “Little Saint Nick”.

“Sleigh Ride” was covered by the American girl group The Ronettes. The Phil Spector-produced recording has become the most popular version outside the traditional pop standard genre, charting yearly in Billboard’s Top Ten U.S. Holiday 100 and was #26 in 2018 in the Hot 100. It features the well-known “Ring-a-ling-a-ling, ding-dong-ding” background vocals, and the clip-clop and the whining of a horse at its beginning and end.
