this is GREAT STUFF, I live in NH now but I’m from Mich. GO Blue!!!!!!
and early DTW radio was great and I’m going to be 62 this summer and I remember all of this Lee Alan and Club 1270, WXYZ was the best TV and Radio in DTW
What a thrill to listen to the greatest DJ of all time, Lee Allan. Please let me know if any CD’s are available and I will purchase them. I listened to Lee each night on my transistor radio at home or on my car radio cruising Gratiot. I hope the opportunity to meet him someday soon still exists. It would be a privilege . We were blessed to have these radio programs.
I remember listening to Lee Alan late at night on my transistor radio, after I was supposed to be asleep. I especially remember his sign-off song, Frank Sinatra’s version of, I Can’t Get Started With You. It was a rather poignant ending to the show.
I can’t believe that someone else remembers this song to end the nightly radio show. Many nights trying to get to sleep listening to my transistor radio.
I was a “regular” on Teen Dance shows in the 60s. Still love dancing . During my time on TV I saw such artists as Jerry Lee Louis, Tony Bennett, Sal Mineo and even once saw the 5 brothers singing along with an incredibly young Michael Jackson.
If there are any archives of those wonderful dance shows plz let me know
