Is this MG Kelly who broadcasts “Back To The 70’s” on CKWW?
Hi Albert, the real Mike Kelly in this CKLW 1973 aircheck, passed away some years back. Thank you for visiting Motor City Radio Flashbacks, thank you, much appreciated.
Thank You I Did It Recording Copy CKLW Remember This 1973 Classics I Love That R.I.P. Mike Kelly Died.
Thanks for letting me know Jim. It’s always sad to hear such news about someone we kinda grew up with.
I remember Mike Kelly when he was on WCXI radio. He was a good friend and took me under his wing when I was just starting out as a performer singer in in Michigan in the mid 70’s . We hung out in Wyandotte and spent a lot of time at the river front park. He was so down to earth and cool. I have never forgotten his gentle nature. God rest.
I will always remember Mike. He befriended me when I was starting out in the music business as a singer when I was only 16. He was on WCXI radio at the time. He brought me on stage at a lot of venues and gave me such great advise. We laughed a lot and had some great conversation. God Rest
Michael was an incredible person!!! He used to appear at Rich’s Country Inn in Sumpter Township with my band “Lone Star Revue”, he’d get up and do some songs with us and would have us come up to the studio with him. Unfortunately, I lost track of him over the years. I am so sorry to hear that he passed but so blessed that I got to call him my friend. RIP Michael!!! God Bless You!!!
Many thanks for this Jim. Love listening to these. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Albert Andrus! It’s been awhile since you posted comments on this page. Thanks so much, much appreciated.
Jima—–The reason I haven’t posted comments in a good while is because for some reason I stopped receiving MCRFB emails. I thought maybe you guys stopped doing that. So so glad to see you once again!
Albert, it seems all notifications went away when I made the switch over to this new themed platform, and that was last November. I need to figure out if I am able to retrieve and activate the email notifications. But yes, or you needed to do was hit the links on our Motor City Radio Flashbacks Facebook page and that would have let you know whenever we feature a new post that day. So, we never left and the site’s still here!
Well Jim I certainly would like to receive the MCRFB emails. Checking the page is OK but the emails kind of make sure I don’t forget.
Jim—-Just a quick follow up; I was keeping a folder of all MCRFB emails and prior to this communication the last one I received was on 12/5/2020.
