A MCRFB SIDE NOTE: (?)
___
We took note WKNR never did publish an image of Robin Stone, or that of any other jocks the station had on staff or newly hired, after August 9, 1971.
Looking back, WKNR jocks photos were generally found having been printed on most of Keener music guides (front or back) throughout the years from 1963 and up to the very date noted above.
The very last DJ photo the station published was that of Pat St. John, and his photo was printed on the (bottom) front cover of the August 9, 1971 music guide.
Every weekly music guide issued thereafter (beginning August 16, 1971) instead contained the station’s brand new, heavily promoted station disclaimer which read:” Keener 13 Detroit’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Station” and the disclaimer was found printed on every issue through December 13, 1971.
After that issue, “WKNR Rock ‘n’ Roll” was subtly the new disclaimer on the remaining WKNR guides up until thelast issue the station printed in March 1972.
Therefore, the question mark remains. No photo of Robin Stone.
