GROOVIN’ (COMPLETE LP) * THE YOUNG RASCALS * 1967

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

___

Released in July, 1967, ‘Groovin’ ‘ (the LP) was the third album released by the Young Rascals. Comprised of eleven songs, eight of those songs were released on four singles as A and B sides.

Only one of the eleven track listing featured on the album is credited to other songwriters. Two were written by Rascals’ Gene Cornish, while eight of the album’s songs were written and sung by band members Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, including their No. 1  single — designated as the album’s title as well.

The album’s release would be the last time the group would sign on as ‘The Young Rascals.’ By the time they released their fourth album for the Atlantic label in early-1968, the band would be billed as The Rascals.

The “Groovin'” album peaked at #7 on the Billboard LP chart, October 21, 1967.
