‘THE FIRST CHRISTMAS’
ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
___
This special holiday recording, “The First Christmas,” was conceived, created, narrated and produced by Bob Pratt.
For three straight years, this program initially aired on 98.7 WBFG-FM in Detroit during the holiday seasons in 1975, 1976 and in 1977.
At the time ‘The First Christmas’ aired in 1975, WBFG was Detroit’s only premiere station known for it’s all-religious broadcasting format.
The call letters WBFG was also the station’s heralded “acronym” as well. The calls represented their out-going religious radio content heard daily 24/7 on the FM side, “We’re Broadcasting For God.”
A special THANK YOU to Bob Pratt for sharing this special holiday program with Motor City Radio Flashbacks.

A MCRFB Note: In 1980, Trinity Broadcasting sold WBFG to Gary Stevens’ Doubleday Broadcasting. The transaction became the highest ever paid for a radio station in Detroit at the time.
With the new Doubleday acquisition that year WBFG became WLLZ in Detroit.
