Tape recorders. Home stereo components. Portable record players. Transistor radios.

A look back at some of the ’60s electronics American consumers were buying from the Radio Shack chain, 1968. These four product pages were taken from the Radio Shack catalog, from that year.

Motor City Radio Flashbacks found an amazing website online where you can view the entire archived Radio Shack publications — where you can view page-to-page — every single catalog from 1936 to 2005.

It’s a ‘Realistic’ decades’ electronic blast from the past you’ll enjoy viewing. Check it out! ?

BEFORE I GO – A REUNION OUR LAST CHANCE TOGETHER – IN PERSON

A Word by Lee Alan (March 25)

WXYZ-AM 1270 LEE ALAN circa 1964

Thousands of us used to get together every night on the radio. What if we could all have one last time together? For a few hours. Not on the radio, In person. You and me. And as many of my friends from all those great days who are still with us, can get to come. Names you know. Radio-TV people. Music people.

One last time. In one place. Face to face.

You and me. We’ll share stories. Laugh a little. Play some music and sounds from the past. Talk a lot. Remember things. Answer questions. Even cry a little. Just a few short precious and memorable hours. I will soon be leaving the Detroit area for good. But before I go do you think we could get together? You and me together again. In person. Let’s make a memory.

One last time.

LEE ALAN
