Well, I am finally moved. Just a note to thank you for this wonderful tribute. I realize how much time and effort you put into this and I m humbled and grateful. I am in SW Florida producing for Audible, Sales consulting with the number one station in Philadelphia from here and…………. thinking about trying to find radio station down here that might be interested in having me do something on the air. Lots of Michigan people here for sure. What fun it would be….
Thanks for ll you do…. Kindest Regards – Lee
There once was a time and place on the Detroit radio dial when we fell in love with the sounds of Top 40 radio. I was one of them. And this website intends to keep those wonderful Detroit radio memories alive. Thank you so kindly, Lee. Thank you for your comments and your words of encouragement, and for the support you have shared with me, personally, in the past. It only encourages me I should continue preserving our GREAT Detroit radio legacy we so treasure here, all in one place, on this website. Lee, I loved the sound of WXYZ you were so much a part of during the 1960s, what GREAT Detroit radio memories https://mcrfb.com/?p=78276
Again, my congratulations on entering your “new chapter” in your life, your move to the Sunshine State! On a personal note, having retired (December 30, 2016), my wife and I moved to Florida as well (January 2017). We are now Floridians, currently living in Sun City Center (off I-75), some thirty miles south of Tampa. Where we are staying, yes, we have met many Michiganders in Florida as well. And as I write we are currently enjoying our return to this great city, Detroit, spending time with family and old friends here, for the summer.
In parting, wishing you well with your new endeavors, here’s hoping radio will find your broadcasting skills and talents wherever you may go. Detroit loves and misses you. So remember do not stray too far from your Detroit roots . . . please stay in touch, always —
Thank you Jim
Detroit will always be in my blood. What great times we all had together. I cherish them and am happy I was able to be a small part of it all
May God Bless you and please keep helping us all to remember things so important; yet so easily forgotten
Warmest Regards to you and all………
